Cosmetic Tattoo Aftercare
BROWS
WHAT TO EXPECT:
It is normal to feel tingling and tenderness, and probably a bit of swelling in the tattoo area immediately after. This is because the numbing cream/anaesthetic used on your brows before applying the tattoo, will start to wear off and the newly exposed wound will begin the process of healing immediately.
Dryness and flaking can be expected(do not stress this is completely normal!) around 3 – 10 days. This will take some pigment with it and may look as though most of the colour is gone underneath.
As soon as you get home, gently wipe your brows with a warm damp cotton pad to remove any excess lymph fluid build up. This will minimise how much your brows flake. Pat dry with a tissue and apply a thin smear of the Cosmetic Tattoo aftercare cream provided with a clean cotton tip.
From the Second day do this morning and night before bed (after your shower). Less more often is best; excessive amounts will not give the best results. Applying too much aftercare cream can produce a poor result and unevenness in colour.
From the third day you can gently use the gentle cleanser provided to clean with the warm water damp cotton pad, only do this once a day if needed.
DO NOT:
-Use active cleansers or active products on the treated area for 14 days.
-Drink alcohol for 24 hours after the procedure.
-Apply makeup on the eyebrows for the first 14 days.
-Exercise/physical activity/workouts/swimming/saunas
-Expose your brows to direct sunlight for the first 10 days, always use a physical sunscreen.
-Do not pick any of the scaling that may occur, it can cause scarring and affect the finished results.
PLEASE REMEMBER:
-Your newly enhanced brows may look very dark for the first week, depending on your skin type, you may loose up to 50% of the pigment after 7 days of your first appointment.
-Once healed, the result will in most cases resemble a softly drawn pencil (depending on colour/s selected).
-The final result is 4-6 weeks after your perfect visit! Trust the process.
-If Tattoo aftercare is not carried out properly, there is an inherent risk of infection and/or allergic reaction - if pain or tenderness persists for longer than a few days, consult your doctor immediately.
LOOKING AFTER YOUR EYEBROWS LONG TERM!
-Exposure to the sun over time can cause fading and colour change.
-Wear a sun block or products containing UVA/UVB blocks, and wear sunglasses to protect your eyeliner.
-Salt or chlorinated water can cause a bleaching effect - it is recommended the tattoo be covered with Vaseline.
-Chemicals of any kind could interfere with the healing and the colour.
- Any skincare products containing active ingredients(e.g. glycolic acid, retinol, AHA, vitamin C etc) and in clinic peel products should be kept completely away from the tattoo as continued use could lighten the pigment.
LIP BLUSH
Immediately after the treatment, lips will be slightly swollen, tender and will feel tight. This will subside after 24 hours. Apply the A and D ointment balm constantly to keep lips moisturised. This will help with tenderness as well as holding in the colour. If you do not apply enough cream, your lips will become tight and dry and can cause the colour to drop out more. Always apply the balm before showering

DO NOT:
-Drink hot drinks or eat spicy food for the four days.
-Apply make-up or lipstick, no kissing or direct water for 5 days.
-Kiss other people as this could cause infection.
PLEASE REMEMBER:
-Drink through a straw until lips are healed – especially days 1-4.
-Colour will appear much darker at first then lighten once healed.
-Please do not pick - lips will exfoliate on their own, usually after 3-4 days.
-Do not be worried if you lose colour because you can lose 50-70% the first time.
Cold sores - if you have ever had a cold sore, you will more than likely break out. This is caused by stress on the lips. Please consider using cold sore creams or taking antiviral medication.
